Overview of the BMW M8 Gran Coupe Competition
This is a January 2021 BMW M8 Gran Coupe Competition, chassis code 3BA-GV44M, offered at USS Tokyo as lot 75167 on 22 October 2026. It is finished in Frozen Brilliant White over a white leather interior, uses the 4,400 cc twin turbo petrol V8, and drives through a floor mounted automatic gearbox with four wheel drive. The odometer reads 15,772 km, approximately 9,800 miles. It carries an overall auction grade of 5 and an interior grade of A, which is a strong pairing for a car of this type.
The sheet lists it as a dealer import in left hand drive, bought directly from a private owner, with a new car service book and records for every year from 2021 to 2025. For buyers who want a low mileage, properly documented BMW M8 Gran Coupe with carbon ceramic brakes and the M Carbon exterior pack, this is a clean and well specified example to consider.
The Drive Review
The M8 Gran Coupe Competition is a very fast four door grand tourer with an M car temperament. The S63 4.4 litre twin turbo V8 produces 625 PS and 750 Nm in Competition form. BMW quotes 0 to 100 km/h in about 3.2 seconds. The delivery is huge and linear, with the turbos feeling almost invisible and the V8 growling deeply through the quad exhaust tips visible in the photographs.
Power goes through an eight speed M Steptronic automatic and the M xDrive system, which sends drive to all four wheels but is rear biased in character. It can also be switched into rear wheel drive modes, so it can be playful when you want it to be. The car is heavy, and you feel that in tight turns, but adaptive dampers, active rear steering and the clever differential hide a great deal of it. The result is a car that feels smaller than its 5 metre length suggests, and that can cross a continent in comfort.
Compared with an older manual M car it is less raw and more digital, with a configurable cockpit and many drive settings. What it offers instead is huge pace, real refinement and the practicality of four doors and a proper boot.

The sales points add M carbon ceramic brakes, the M Carbon exterior package, heated and ventilated seats and full segment digital TV. The points to note list a Bowers and Wilkins Diamond surround sound system.
The photographs support this. Gold brake calipers sit behind large dark alloy wheels, and the carbon front splitter and rear diffuser are visible with a gloss black boot lid spoiler. The roof appears dark, in contrast to the white body. Inside there is a widescreen navigation display, a digital instrument cluster, an M steering wheel and the centre console controller. Other options and any aftermarket modifications are not confirmed on the auction sheet.
Japanese Auction Report Translation
The inspector's report records three points. First, small scuffs and light dirt in the cabin. Second, scratches on the wheels. Third, small scratches in various places on the body. No engine, gearbox, oil leak, coolant leak, warning light, air conditioning, electrical, suspension, exhaust, rust or accident repair faults are noted.
The sheet states the usage history box is blank, and no colour change is recorded. It confirms the new car service book with warranty booklet is present, and records service records for Reiwa 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, meaning 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. It also says the owner's manual, warranty booklet, display key and card key will be sent at a later date. Treat these items as not in the auction house's hands for now, and ask us about them before you bid.
The car is marked as bought directly from a private owner and as an official dealer import. Points to note list the Merino leather interior and the Bowers and Wilkins system, as covered above. The transfer documents expiry, import model year, colour code, serial number and load capacity boxes are blank. Smoke, odour, tyre condition and a spare wheel are not mentioned in writing. The diagram carries a spare tyre symbol, but nothing is marked on it.
Damage Diagram and Body Condition
The diagram shows only minor markings. A on the front bumper means a scratch. A on the bonnet means a scratch. A mark reading Tobi A sits just behind the bonnet, most likely on the windscreen, though it could be the rear edge of the bonnet. It indicates stone chips with a scratch, and the reading is not certain. A on each side of the car beside the rear wheels, shown with an arrow, indicates scratches on the rear quarter panels or possibly the rear wheels, and these readings are not certain either. A1 on the rear bumper is a small scratch.
There are no repair marks, dents, replaced panel, rust or corrosion codes on the diagram. The car looks very clean in the photographs. Overall it is a well kept, usable collector grade car with light cosmetic wear only, consistent with its grade 5 and low mileage.
Interior Condition
The interior is graded A. The photographs show light coloured leather seats with a diamond pattern on the seat centres, a clean dashboard and a tidy centre console with the gear selector and iDrive controller. The inspector notes small scuffs and light dirt in the cabin, and nothing beyond that. Heated and ventilated seats, navigation and TV are listed. In the cluster photograph the display shows the M8 logo, the P position, 4WD and Japanese text for the location.
Japanese Auction Grades
Auction grade 5 is the highest common grade for a used car, meaning a very clean car with minimal flaws. Interior grade A is the top interior mark. Together with the mileage and the service records, these suggest a car that has been well looked after, though the grade is an inspection guide and not a warranty.
Model History
The M8 Gran Coupe is the four door version of the F93 generation 8 Series, introduced for the 2020 model year as the fastest and most focused 8 Series. It shares its S63 V8 with the M5 and the M8 coupe and convertible, and it came in standard and Competition forms. The Competition has more power, plus sharper tuning and extra equipment. It uses the M xDrive system, which lets drivers choose between four wheel drive and rear wheel drive characteristics. This example was first registered in January 2021, early in the model's life.
Why This Model Has Become Collectible
The M8 Gran Coupe is a modern performance car and not yet a classic, so it is best viewed as a rare, desirable high performance four door rather than a settled collectible. Its appeal rests on the V8 engine, a combination of space and speed rarely found elsewhere, and the fact that BMW has since moved towards electrification across its range. Supply of low mileage, well documented examples is limited, and Japan is a good source because cars tend to be lightly used and carefully maintained. Left hand drive is a plus for buyers in most markets outside Japan. We do not guarantee future values, and this should not be treated as an investment.
What To Look For When Buying This Model
Start with the carbon ceramic brakes, which are expensive to replace. Ask for an inspection of the discs and pads, and look for any brake warnings. The S63 V8 is a hot vee twin turbo engine, so check the service records for regular oil changes, and look for oil or coolant seepage around the engine bay, turbos and ancillaries. Check the electronics, including the iDrive display, digital cluster and driver assistance systems, since this is a complex car. Japanese cars will have Japanese maps and often kilometre displays, so ask about language and map options for your market.
On this car, look at the scratched wheels and the stone chips and scratches recorded on the sheet. The front bumper and bonnet carry marks, so inspect them carefully on arrival. Because the manual, warranty booklet, display key and card key are to be sent later, confirm with us when and how they will reach you.

Auction Caution
Auction cars are inspected before sale but remain used vehicles. The auction sheet is an independent condition guide, not a mechanical warranty. A performance car of this type may need servicing, maintenance or refurbishment after purchase. Please note the inspector's warnings again: small scuffs and light dirt in the cabin, scratches on the wheels, small scratches in various places, stone chips with a scratch near the windscreen (not certain), scratches on the bumpers, bonnet and rear quarters, and the manual, warranty booklet, display key and card key to be sent at a later date.
