Overview of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition
This is a 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition, first registered in July 2014 (Heisei 26) and offered at USS Tokyo as lot 75414 on 22 October 2026. It is finished in designo magno graphite, a matt grey, with black cross spoke alloy wheels and red brake calipers. The sheet records 84,112 km, which is approximately 52,265 miles, an auction grade of 4 and an interior grade of B.
The Final Edition was the send off for the SLS. The sheet describes it as limited to 350 cars worldwide and 20 for Japan. This one is a left hand drive dealer import with a spare key and Yanase service records, and it carries the AMG exterior carbon package, a carbon fibre bonnet and the AMG sports exhaust. It is a naturally aspirated 6.3 litre V8 gullwing coupe, and increasingly few like it are offered from Japan.
The Drive Review
The SLS AMG was the first car designed from the ground up by AMG, and it drives like it. The 6.3 litre V8 sits far back behind the front axle, almost in the cockpit, and drives the rear wheels through a seven speed dual clutch gearbox mounted at the rear. In the GT form the engine makes 591 PS, with the kind of immediate throttle response and hard, metallic top end that turbocharged rivals cannot match. The tachometer in the photographs runs to 9,000 rpm and the red zone starts above 7,000.
The long bonnet, set back cabin and rear transaxle give the car a rear biased feel. Steering is quick and weighty, the aluminium spaceframe is stiff, and the car rewards a driver who respects its power. The dual clutch gearbox is crisp under load and a little more hesitant at walking pace, which is typical of the type. Against a modern turbo coupe, the SLS is louder, more theatrical and more physical. It is a car you notice you are driving.

The sales points list the AMG sports exhaust, the carbon package trim pieces, the carbon fibre bonnet and cross spoke alloy wheels. Tyre sizes are 265/35ZR19 at the front and 295/30ZR20 at the rear. The notes add the AMG exterior carbon package, red calipers and exclusive leather. The photographs show a fixed rear wing, carbon trim around the transmission controls and an AMG branded instrument cluster.
A spare key is present. Yanase service records are noted. The new car maintenance booklet box is blank, so owner manuals and the original booklet are not confirmed on the sheet.
Japanese Auction Report Translation
The inspector records the following. Engine noise (EG音) is noted, with no further detail on the sheet, so the type and source of the noise are not confirmed. The steering wheel is scuffed. The seats are creased and scuffed. The wheels have scratches. There are scratches and dents in various places.
The points to note read: colour designo magno graphite, AMG exterior carbon package, red calipers, exclusive leather in black/anthracite, and Yanase service records present for July 2021, July 2023, June 2025 and September 2026. The sales points confirm the Final Edition grade, a limited run of 350 worldwide and 20 for Japan, and a spare key. The spare tyre circle on the diagram has nothing written in it, so a spare wheel is not confirmed.
Damage Diagram and Body Condition
The front bumper carries A1, a small scratch, plus scuff scratches. The front left wing has an A mark for a scratch, and the bonnet has an A mark for a scratch. The bonnet is carbon fibre per the sheet. There is a mark in the windscreen area read as stone chips or chip scratches; this placement is a best reading, so check the glass in the photographs on the page. The left door has A1, a small scratch.
Both sills are marked with many scratches, and the rear bumper has many scratches plus an A2 scratch. The sill marking is common on a car with high, wide sills, and it is the main cosmetic theme of this sheet. The diagram shows no dents marked and no repair, panel replacement or rust codes. The inspector's general comment of scratches and dents in various places goes slightly beyond what the diagram shows, so allow for a few small dents. Overall this is usable enthusiast condition with honest cosmetic wear, not collector grade. Matt paint cannot be polished out like gloss, so budget for specialist work if you want the scratches improved.
Interior Condition
The interior grade is B. The inspector notes a scuffed steering wheel and creased, scuffed seats, which fits a car that has covered 84,112 km. The photographs show a dark cabin with pale contrast stitching, carbon trim on the centre console, a rotary controller, the navigation screen and the AMG cluster. The sheet does not mention smoke, odours, headlining or dashboard damage, but these are not confirmed either way, so ask us for the full photographs.
Japanese Auction Grades
Auction grade 4 indicates a good condition car with modest wear, and interior grade B indicates a fair interior with ordinary use. The sheet gives grade 4 overall, and the exterior grade is also 4. Grades are a guide to condition rather than a mechanical report, and the inspector comments matter as much as the number.
Model History
The SLS AMG was launched in 2010 as the spiritual successor to the 300 SL Gullwing and replaced the SLR McLaren in AMG's range. It used the M159 6.3 litre naturally aspirated V8, an aluminium spaceframe and gullwing doors, and it was the first car developed entirely by AMG. Later variants included the GT, the roadster and the Black Series. The GT Final Edition was built in 2014 as the last version of the coupe, with designo magno matt paint, carbon fibre details and red calipers. Production was limited to 350 cars, according to the sheet.
Why This Model Has Become Collectible
The SLS AMG marks the end of an era. It is a large capacity naturally aspirated V8, a design that rivals have since replaced with turbocharged or electrified engines. The gullwing doors recall the 1950s 300 SL, and the styling has aged well. This particular car is one of just 20 Final Editions for Japan according to the sheet, which adds rarity inside an already limited model. Dealer service records and low use by supercar standards help. Demand is global, and examples with records are not easy to find. Values are not guaranteed and this is a car to enjoy, not an investment.
What To Look For When Buying This Model
Start with this car's own sheet. The inspector notes engine noise without describing it, so ask for a cold start video and have the engine listened to by an AMG specialist. Check the dual clutch gearbox for smooth low speed engagement and clean shifts under load. The Yanase records run to September 2026, so ask what work was done at each visit.
The bodywork matters more than usual on a matt painted car. Scratches on both sills and the rear bumper are marked, and matt paint cannot be spot repaired easily. Look at the carbon bonnet for stone chips and lacquer condition, and examine the gullwing door seals and mechanisms. The wheels are scratched, and rear tyres in 295/30ZR20 are costly. The interior leather on the driver's side bolster and the steering wheel are the likely wear points on a car at this mileage.
Why Import This Car From Japan
Japanese cars are generally well documented, kept indoors and serviced by main dealers, and the auction sheet gives an independent inspection before you commit. A Final Edition with Yanase records is hard to find elsewhere.

Auction Caution
Auction cars are inspected before sale but are still used vehicles. The auction sheet is an independent guide to condition and not a mechanical warranty. A high performance car such as this SLS AMG may need servicing, maintenance or refurbishment after purchase. Please note the inspector's warnings again: engine noise, scuffed steering wheel, creased and scuffed seats, scratched wheels, many scratches on both sills and the rear bumper, and scratches and dents in various places. Spare wheel, owner manuals and the new car maintenance booklet are not confirmed on the sheet.
