Overview of the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec
This Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec is a BNR34 coupe first registered in January 1999, finished in black (colour code GV1) with a six speed manual gearbox and four wheel drive. It is due to cross the block at USS Yokohama on 6 October 2026 as lot 30182 in the Domestic Prime Corner. The inspector has graded it 4.5 overall with an interior grade of B. The odometer on the auction sheet reads 78,419 km, which is approximately 48,727 miles.
January 1999 is the very first month of BNR34 GT-R sales, and the frame number printed on the sheet, BNR34-000899, points to an early build. The sheet marks it as a one owner car that was bought directly from a private owner. A new car service book with warranty is ticked as present, and the sheet records Nissan dealer servicing in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024 and 2026.
This is not a standard car. The sheet lists a Mine's ECU boost up, BBS 18 inch wheels, Brembo gold calipers, Ohlins coilovers with Ohlins sub tanks, an HKS Hyper silencer, HKS additional gauges and an HKS electronic valve controller. The photographs show the gold BBS wheels, the large rear wing and a front lip. The inspector's complaints are modest: a cracked monitor, wear on the steering wheel and in the cabin, some rust under the car, scratched wheels and stone chips at the front. The damage diagram shows only small scratches.
If you want an early, low mileage, one owner BNR34 with a long and unbroken dealer service record, and you are happy with a tuned specification, this is a car worth a close look. If you want a completely standard car, read the modification notes below carefully before you bid.
The Drive Review
Nobody at Autoselecta has driven this particular car, so this section covers how the BNR34 GT-R V-Spec behaves in general. This car's boost up, coilovers and exhaust will shift the character from the factory original, and the sheet gives no power figure for it.
The heart of the car is the RB26DETT, a 2.6 litre twin turbo inline six with an individual throttle body for each cylinder. Nissan officially quoted 280 PS because of the Japanese manufacturers' agreement of the time, with 392 Nm of torque, and the engine was always understood to have more in reserve. Throttle response from those separate throttle bodies is sharp, the six sounds hard and mechanical, and the boost builds with real force through the mid range and carries on towards the redline. A boost increase such as the Mine's ECU on this car would add to that, though it is not certified on the sheet.
The six speed manual is a Getrag unit. The shift has a mechanical, weighty feel with a positive gate, and the clutch is firm. It rewards a driver who treats it with respect, particularly if the engine is making more than standard power. The V-Spec specification adds ATTESA E-TS Pro four wheel drive and an active limited slip differential at the rear, together with firmer suspension than the standard GT-R. The all wheel drive system is rear biased in normal driving and sends torque forward when the rear starts to slip, so the car claws out of corners with a confidence that surprises people who expect a heavy coupe to push wide. Super HICAS rear steering helps the car turn in, and the hydraulic steering gives you a good idea of what the front tyres are doing.
Against a modern performance car the BNR34 feels heavier and more upright, with fewer electronic aids and no digital filter between your right foot and the road. That is exactly its appeal. You feel the turbos, the gearbox and the weight transfer, and you have to take part. Brembo brakes were fitted to the model from the factory and are strong for the era.
This car's Ohlins coilovers with sub tanks should give tighter body control than the factory springs, although the ride will depend on how they are set up. The sheet notes that the genuine suspension is included in the car, so a buyer who prefers the standard feel has the original parts to hand.
Auction Details
The car is listed at USS Yokohama, lot 30182, in the Domestic Prime Corner, with the auction taking place on 6 October 2026 (Japan). An auction number is not given on the sheet and the inspection date is not stated. The first registration date is January 1999 (Heisei 11). The sheet shows the Japanese registration plate as Sagami 34 ni 1175, a recycling deposit of 12,560 yen and a shaken (vehicle inspection) valid until 27 January 2028. The shaken is a Japanese domestic matter and will not carry over to an export. The member number at the foot of the sheet is cut off and cannot be read.
The auction start price is ¥16,800,000. The Autoselecta guide bidding range is £92,500 to £128,500. This is an estimated range based on the market. It is not a guaranteed purchase price, and we cannot say the car will sell within it. For reference, six similar cars sold at Japanese auctions between £86,528 and £218,267, with a typical result of about £121,072. Those are auction results, not Autoselecta sales, and the range includes other versions and conditions. The minimum bid and the landed cost to your country are worked out live in the price panel on this page, so please use that panel rather than relying on a figure written here.
All bids must be submitted before 9PM UK time the evening before auction. For this car, with the auction on 6 October, that means Monday 5 October.

The sheet gives no power or torque figures for this car, and the output after the Mine's ECU boost up is not confirmed. There is no engine bay photograph, so the engine bay condition, the turbos and any other engine modifications beyond those listed on the sheet are not confirmed.
Factory Features and Equipment
The equipment marked on the sheet is power steering, power windows and an airbag, together with automatic air conditioning. The sheet circles the new car service book with warranty as present. The warranty booklet and owner's manual are written as to be sent later, so they are not with the car at the auction. A spare key, the number of keys, a spare wheel and ETC are not mentioned on the sheet, so none of these is confirmed.
The photographs show a screen at the top of the centre console and a separate aftermarket style touchscreen unit lower down, below the climate controls. Whether the car has factory navigation is not stated on the sheet. The sheet lists HKS additional gauges, though the photographs do not show them clearly.
On the outside, the sheet notes a genuine front diffuser, a rear spoiler and a carbon rear diffuser. The photographs show the large rear wing, the front lip and the V-Spec and GT-R badges on the tail.
Japanese Auction Report Translation
The auction sheet has been translated and checked by Autoselecta. Every readable line is reported below.
The sheet identifies the lot as number 30182 in the Domestic Prime Corner. The vehicle is a Nissan Skyline, grade GT-R V-Spec, chassis code GF-BNR34, coupe body, 2600 cc, 4WD, with a six speed floor manual transmission. First registration is January 1999. The inspection (shaken) is valid until 27 January 2028. The odometer reads 78,419 km. Air conditioning is automatic. The exterior is black, the original colour, with the colour change box showing no change, colour code GV1. Fuel is petrol. The new car service book with warranty is marked present. The recycling deposit is 12,560 yen. Seating is for four. The registration plate is Sagami 34 ni 1175 and the frame number is BNR34-000899. The overall grade is 4.5 and the interior grade is B. The equipment marks are power steering, power windows and airbag.
The sales points listed by the auction are as follows. It is a one owner car. It was bought directly from a private owner. It has a Mine's ECU boost up. It has BBS 18 inch alloy wheels, Brembo gold brake calipers, Ohlins coilover suspension and Ohlins sub tanks. It has an HKS Hyper silencer, HKS additional gauges and an HKS electronic valve controller.
The points to note are a genuine front diffuser, a rear spoiler, a carbon rear diffuser and the genuine suspension included in the car. There is no certificate for the ECU boost up. Nissan dealer servicing is recorded in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024 and 2026. The warranty booklet and owner's manual are to be sent later, as written on the sheet.
The inspector's report states that the monitor is cracked, the steering wheel has scuffs and scratches, there are scuffs inside the cabin, there is some rust on the underside, the wheels are scratched and there are stone chip scratches around the front.
The sheet also carries a field giving dimensions of length 460 cm, width 178 cm and height 136 cm, which is a loading space entry as printed on the form. The first choice for the car is marked as the Domestic Prime corner. Nothing on the sheet mentions engine noise, transmission operation, clutch condition, oil or coolant leaks, warning lights, accident repair, smoke or odours, so none of those is confirmed either way. The mention of rust is limited to some rust on the underside.
Damage Diagram and Body Condition
The diagram shows only small scratches and one stone chip. There are no dents, repair marks, replaced panels or repainting marked anywhere.
On the front bumper the sheet marks A1, a small scratch, with a note for a scuff scratch. The bonnet is marked A, a scratch, with no size number given, so it is not graded as small or large. The windscreen is marked as a stone chip. The staff reading of the diagram notes that the stone chip mark sits just behind the bonnet on the drawing, so the exact position is slightly unclear. Both front doors are marked A1, a small scratch each, and both rear quarter panels are marked A1, a small scratch each. The rear bumper is marked A1, a small scratch.
This fits the inspector's note about stone chip scratches around the front, which is normal on a car that has covered nearly 49,000 miles on the road. Wheel scratches are noted separately, and some rust is mentioned on the underside. In the photographs the black paint looks glossy and the panel fit looks even, although black photographs show marks poorly, so a careful reading of the diagram is better than judging from the pictures.
Overall this looks like a usable enthusiast condition car with a clean body and only minor cosmetic marks, with the underbody rust the item to examine most closely. It is not marked as a collector grade untouched car, because of the many modifications and the underside rust. The sheet gives no further detail on the extent or location of that rust.
Interior Condition
The interior grade is B, which indicates average condition with signs of normal use. The inspector notes a cracked monitor, scuffs and scratches on the steering wheel and scuffs inside the cabin. The sheet does not mention smoke, odours, seat tears or dashboard damage.
The photographs show a grey interior with grey perforated pattern fabric seats and a matching rear bench. The rear seat looks clean in the picture, with the seat belts and door card in good shape. In the front photograph the dashboard looks tidy and the carpet and floor mat are present. The front seats in the other photographs appear to be a bucket style in the driver position, but this is not described on the sheet. There is aftermarket wiring and some blue lit parts near the gear lever. The odometer in the gauge cluster cannot be read in the photograph, so we rely on the 78,419 km on the sheet.
Japanese Auction Grades
Japanese auction grades run from the top of the scale at S, then 6 and 5 for near new cars, then 4.5, 4, 3.5 and lower. Grade 4.5 is a very good grade for a car of this age. It points to a very clean car with only light, minor marks and no significant repair history. The interior grade runs from A to D. A B grade means average condition with signs of ordinary use, which agrees with the inspector's notes of scuffs, wear on the steering wheel and a cracked monitor. The exterior grade given in the data is also 4.5.
An auction grade is an independent opinion of condition at the time of inspection. It does not tell you how the car drives, how the turbochargers and gearbox are, or what the modifications have done to the engine.
Model History
The BNR34 Skyline GT-R was introduced in January 1999 as the final evolution of the GT-R line that had returned with the BNR32 in 1989 and continued with the BNR33 in 1995. The BNR34 had a shorter wheelbase and a stiffer body than the R33 and it carried the 2.6 litre RB26DETT engine, ATTESA E-TS Pro all wheel drive and Super HICAS rear steering. It was sold in standard form and as the V-Spec, which added the active limited slip differential, ATTESA E-TS Pro and firmer suspension with aerodynamic parts.
Later versions included the V-Spec II, M-Spec and the final Nür models, and production ended in 2002 because the engine could not meet new emission rules. Only a little over eleven thousand BNR34 cars were built in total across all versions, which is very small compared with the demand for them today.
The GT-R nameplate carries a long motorsport history in Japanese touring car racing, and the R34 appeared in the Super GT series and in film and video games that built its worldwide reputation.
Why This Model Has Become Collectible
The BNR34 GT-R is the final analogue GT-R, built in small numbers and sold only through Nissan in Japan. It has the RB26DETT engine, a manual gearbox and an advanced four wheel drive system with a motorsport history behind it. It also has a distinctive design that stands apart from most cars of the period.
Survival rates for good ones are a real issue. Many were modified, raced or crashed, and unmodified low mileage cars are now difficult to find. This car is on the other side of that line, as it is modified, but it is a one owner car with a service book and 78,419 km (48,727 miles), which is unusually low for a tuned car. The Nissan dealer servicing recorded from 2000 to 2026 is a good sign for a car of this kind.
Demand is global, and this car is eligible for the United States because it is over 25 years old. That is the reason prices have climbed and why sourcing a good one from Japan has become harder. Please note that nobody can guarantee a future value, and this car should not be thought of as an investment. Buy it because you want to drive and enjoy it.
What To Look For When Buying This Model
The first thing to check on any BNR34 is rust, and the sheet notes some rust on the underside of this car. Ask for underbody photographs and check the sills, the chassis rails, the rear strut tower areas and the boot floor. Rust can be easy to miss at an auction and it can be expensive to repair.
The next issue is how the engine has been tuned. The Mine's ECU boost up has no certificate, which means there is no paperwork confirming the map or the output. The condition of the turbos, the oil pump and the cooling system after a power increase should be checked by a specialist. The gearbox should be checked as well, because the Getrag unit is known to wear under higher power, particularly with a sharp clutch.
The ATTESA system and the active differential should be tested after arrival. Look at the rubber hoses, the coolant system, the engine mounts and the clutch. Check the gauge, monitor and electrical items, since the sheet already notes a cracked monitor. Look at the wheels and tyres, and compare the Ohlins suspension setup with the genuine suspension included in the car.
Why Import This Car From Japan
Japan is where nearly every BNR34 GT-R was sold new, and the Japanese auction system gives you detailed condition reports on every car. Cars are often well documented, with service books and dealer records like this one. Mileage in Japan is generally dependable, and many cars have only had a few owners. The sheet confirms that this car has had one owner and Nissan dealer servicing from 2000 to 2026.
Buying at auction through an agent also gives you access to a much larger choice of cars than any single dealer can offer. You should still check the import rules in your own country before bidding, as these vary a great deal. Japan has no age rule of its own for exports. Some countries accept right hand drive cars of this age easily and some do not, so please check first.
USA Import Information
This Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec was first registered in January 1999, which makes it more than 25 years old and eligible for import into the United States under the 25 year rule. Autoselecta can arrange shipment from Japan to the United States.
Before bidding, please contact Autoselecta with your city or ZIP code so that a delivered quotation can be prepared. We can calculate the expected purchase price, the costs in Japan, shipping, customs related costs and the delivery requirements to your location. There will be additional charges beyond the purchase price, and your quote will set these out. Some states, California in particular, apply their own emissions or registration rules, so please check your state's requirements.
Ultimate Guide For Japanese Imports
The process is simple when it is broken down. First, you choose a car and read the translated auction sheet, looking at the grade, the mileage, the inspector notes and the damage diagram. Second, you agree a maximum bid with Autoselecta and the bid is placed for you at the auction. Bids are placed in advance, not live by the buyer. Third, if the bid wins, you pay for the car and Autoselecta arranges the Japanese paperwork, export deregistration and shipping. Fourth, once the car reaches your country you complete the local import steps, such as customs, compliance, inspection and registration.
The rules and costs depend on where you live, so ask before you bid. The price panel on this page gives the working figures for the bid and the landed cost.

Auction Caution
Auction cars are inspected before sale, but they are still used vehicles. An auction sheet is an independent guide to condition. It is not a mechanical warranty, and it cannot tell you everything about the engine, gearbox, turbos or electrics. Older performance cars like this one may need servicing, maintenance or refurbishment after purchase.
Please keep the inspector's warnings in mind for this car. The monitor is cracked, the steering wheel has scuffs and scratches, there are scuffs in the cabin, there is some rust on the underside, the wheels are scratched and there are stone chip scratches around the front. The Mine's ECU boost up has no certificate. The warranty booklet and owner's manual are to be sent later. The spare key, spare wheel and ETC are not confirmed. There is no engine bay photograph, and nothing on the sheet comments on the engine, gearbox or clutch.
