Overview of the Ferrari F430
This Ferrari F430 is a May 2005 left hand drive coupe (chassis code GH-F430) finished in red, offered at USS Nagoya & Hokuriku as lot 58146 on 9 October 2026. It carries a 4.3 litre V8, a genuine six speed manual gearbox and an odometer reading of 38,535 km, approximately 23,945 miles. The auction grade is 4.5 with interior grade B, and the sheet records three owners, a dealer import history and a new car service book.
The manual is the headline. Most F430s were sold with the paddle shift F1 gearbox, so a gated six speed car with low mileage, carbon racing seats and a documented history is a different proposition from the usual example. The start price is ¥50,000,000. No Autoselecta guide bidding range has been set for this car, so please use the price panel on this page for current bidding figures.
The Drive Review
The F430 replaced the 360 Modena and brought a new 4.3 litre V8 that revs to a very high limit, with a flat, hard edged shriek at the top of the range that no turbocharged car can copy. The manual car asks you to do the work: a long, deliberate throw through the open gate, a clutch you must learn, and a car that rewards a clean heel and toe downshift. The F1 car is quicker to change gear, but the manual feels more connected.
The chassis is aluminium, rear wheel drive and mid engined, with a electronic differential that helped the car put its power down out of corners. Steering is quick and light by modern standards but full of detail. Compared with a current Ferrari it is smaller, simpler and less insulated, with no turbo lag and very little driver aid intrusion. The sheet confirms the genuine factory silencer, which matters because the exhaust note is a large part of why people buy this car.

Vehicle Specifications
The sheet gives a first registration of May 2005 (Heisei 17), engine size 4300 cc, chassis code GH-F430 and frame number ZFFEZ58J000141353. The body is a two door coupe seating two. Fuel is petrol and the sheet records 2WD. The gearbox is a six speed floor manual. Steering is left hand drive and the car is recorded as a dealer import.
Exterior colour is red, the original colour, with no colour change marked, and the colour code on the sheet is 322. The interior is in red tones. The odometer reads 38,535 km (approximately 23,945 miles). The feed rounded this to 39,000 km, but the sheet reading is used throughout this report. The recycling deposit is shown as ¥19,160.
Factory Features and Equipment
The sheet ticks genuine alloy wheels, power steering, power windows, leather, airbags and air conditioning. The sales points list a series of factory options: carbon racing seats, Challenge wheels, carbon interior, colour coded interior, coloured brake calipers and cloisonné enamel emblems. The photographs show red leather seats, carbon fibre dashboard trim, yellow tachometer, black wheels with yellow calipers visible behind them and the shield badges on the front wings.
The photographs also show an aftermarket style display fitted on the left of the dashboard and a navigation screen in the centre. Neither appears among the equipment on the auction sheet, so their specification and fitment are not confirmed. An air pump and tool bag are loaded in the car.
Japanese Auction Report Translation
The sheet notes three owners and that the car was bought in directly from the owner. It carries the new car service book with warranty, plus an inspection record book with entries for 2006, 2010, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024 and 2026. Invoices are listed for April 2010, April 2011, May 2013, April 2016, April 2018, June 2020, November 2020, November 2021, January 2022 and July 2023. The exact reading of the invoice dates is not certain, as the separator in the handwriting is unclear.
Two repairs are recorded. The left hand drive steering rack was replaced in 2023, and the left door weatherstrip has been replaced. The warranty booklet, owner's manual, spare key and quick guide are written as to be supplied at a later date, so they are not with the car at the time of the sheet. The sheet also notes the genuine factory silencer and describes the car as a genuine factory six speed manual.
The inspector's report reads: seat creases and scuffs, gear knob scratched, wheel scratches, small scratches and small dents. No engine, gearbox, oil leak, warning light, air conditioning or electrical fault is written on the sheet, and no accident history is stated beyond the diagram marks below.
Damage Diagram and Body Condition
The front bumper carries A1 and rub scratches, meaning small scratches and scuffing. The bonnet is marked A for a scratch with no size number. At the rear of the bonnet or the windscreen area the sheet shows stone chips with scratches. The exact position is not certain from the drawing.
The left door is marked W2, a medium repair mark or panel wave, meaning the panel has been worked and may have been repainted. The left sill has A1, a small scratch. The right door has U1, a small dent. Both rear quarter panels are marked W2, again medium repair marks or waves. The rear bumper shows rub scratches. The spare tyre circle on the diagram appears unmarked.
In the photographs the red paint looks glossy and even under the auction lights, and the panel lines look straight. Even so, three W2 marks are worth understanding before bidding. Overall this is a usable enthusiast car in good order for its age with some bodywork repairs on the sheet, rather than an untouched collector example.
Interior Condition
Interior grade B is slightly below the very best, and the inspector lists seat creases and scuffs plus a scratched gear knob. The photographs show red leather seats with a clean look, red door cards, a red centre console and the aluminium gate around the gear lever. The steering wheel and dashboard look tidy. The cluster shows a yellow tachometer and a mileage display in the region of 38,500 km, consistent with the sheet. Smell, headlining and carpet condition are not commented on in the sheet.
Japanese Auction Grades
A grade of 4.5 is a high score on the Japanese scale and generally means a clean car with only minor flaws, though repairs are weighed separately. Interior grade B means average to good wear. Both should be read alongside the diagram and the inspector's comments.
Model History
The F430 was introduced in 2004 as the successor to the 360 Modena, with styling by Pininfarina and a 4.3 litre V8 developed with Maserati. It brought an electronic differential, the steering wheel mounted manettino switch for chassis modes and a more aerodynamic body with the shape of the engine visible through the rear glass. A convertible Spider, the Scuderia and later special editions followed. The car on sale here is an early 2005 model in coupe form, and the six speed manual is the rarer choice.
Why This Model Has Become Collectible
The F430 is one of the last Ferraris to offer a naturally aspirated V8 with a manual gearbox option, before the move to dual clutch and then turbocharged engines. That alone has pulled manual cars away from the F1 cars in desirability. Owners and collectors increasingly want a car that feels analogue, sounds exactly as intended and is simple to read mechanically.
Japanese cars are often sought after because of careful ownership, maintenance records and low mileage, and this one has a complete service record trail with a notable run of dealer and workshop invoices. Demand is worldwide, and good manual examples are becoming harder to find. None of this is a guarantee of future value, and this car should be bought because you want to drive it.
What To Look For When Buying This Model
The first check on any F430 is the cambelt and service history. The belts are due on a time as well as mileage basis, so low mileage does not remove the need. The sheet records regular inspections and invoices, so ask what was done and when. On the manual, clutch wear is the next point: the pedal weight, bite point and any slip under load tell you a lot. Exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters can be an expensive item on the F430, so the genuine silencer noted here is useful but a closer look is wise.
For this particular car, ask about the three W2 marks on the left door and rear quarters, and whether paint thickness readings exist. The 2023 steering rack replacement is a positive in that it addresses a known wear item, but find out what was done at the same time, such as alignment. The warranty booklet, owner's manual, spare key and quick guide are listed as to follow later, so confirm what you will receive. The coloured calipers and Challenge wheels also deserve a look at wheel scratches and brake disc wear.
Why Import This Car From Japan
Japan offers low mileage cars with thorough documentation and a strict inspection culture, and the shaken here runs to June 2028. A three owner left hand drive dealer import is a good fit for markets that drive on the right.

Auction Caution
Auction cars are inspected before sale but are still used vehicles. The auction sheet is an independent condition guide, not a mechanical warranty. A twenty year old Ferrari may need servicing, maintenance or refurbishment after purchase, and the belts, clutch and exhaust should be assessed early. Please take particular note of the inspector's warnings: medium repair or wave marks on the left door and both rear quarters, a small dent on the right door, scratches and stone chips on the front, bonnet, sill and rear bumper, seat creases and scuffs, a scratched gear knob and wheel scratches. The warranty booklet, manual, spare key and quick guide are not with the car at the time of the sheet.
