Overview of the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec BNR34
This is a January 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec, chassis GF-BNR34, finished in black (factory colour code GV1) and offered at USS Yokohama as lot 10003 on 13 October 2026. The odometer reads 78,419 km, approximately 48,728 miles. It scores auction grade 4.5 with interior grade B, and the sheet lists it as a one owner car bought in directly from that owner.
The Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec is the sharpest road going version of the R34 generation: twin turbo straight six, six speed manual, four wheel drive and the V-Spec chassis and aero package. This car adds a Mine's ECU boost up, BBS 18 inch wheels, Ohlins coilovers, Brembo gold calipers and several HKS parts, all recorded on the sheet. The sheet also lists Nissan dealer servicing in most years from 2000 to 2026, which is unusual for a car of this age.
The Drive Review
The BNR34 is powered by the RB26DETT, a 2.6 litre twin turbo straight six with a reputation for strength and a very wide tuning ceiling. Nissan's official figure was 280 PS under the Japanese manufacturers' agreement, though the engine has always felt more capable than that number suggests. Power builds with a smooth, slightly industrial rasp, then the turbos arrive and the car pulls hard towards the red line. The Getrag six speed manual has a mechanical, positive shift and rewards a firm hand.
The chassis is built around the ATTESA E-TS Pro four wheel drive system, which sends drive rearward until slip is detected, so the car turns in like a rear drive coupe and then hauls itself out of corners. V-Spec added firmer suspension tuning, bigger Brembo brakes and an active limited slip differential. Compared with modern performance cars the steering is lighter in feel, the car is more upright and the electronics are minimal. There is no stability programme to hide behind, which is exactly why enthusiasts value it.
This example is not standard. The Mine's ECU boost up will lift output, and the Ohlins coilovers and HKS exhaust and valve controller will change the ride and sound. The sheet says the genuine suspension is loaded in the car, which matters to anyone wanting to return it to factory trim.

Japanese Auction Report Translation
The sheet was translated and checked by Autoselecta. The inspector's report records the following. The monitor is cracked. The steering wheel is scuffed and scratched. There are scuffs in the cabin. There is some rust on the underside. The wheels are scratched. There are stone chip scratches around the front.
The points to note read as follows. Genuine front diffuser. Rear spoiler. Carbon rear diffuser. Genuine suspension is loaded in the car. There is no certificate for the ECU boost up. Nissan dealer servicing is listed for 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024 and 2026. The warranty booklet and owner's manual are to be sent later, as the sheet is written, so they are not confirmed as present with the car. The new car service book with warranty is marked present.
No oil leaks, engine noise, transmission faults, warning lights, accident repair or replaced panels are recorded on the sheet. The member number box at the bottom is cut off and cannot be read with confidence.
Damage Diagram and Body Condition
The diagram shows only light marks. The front bumper and front spoiler carry A1, a small scratch, together with a note that appears to read スリA, which looks like rubbing scuffs. We cannot be certain of that reading. The bonnet is marked A, a scratch with no size number given, so its severity is not confirmed. The windscreen area is marked トビA, stone chips. It is drawn inside the windscreen outline, so we cannot be sure whether it refers to the glass or the rear edge of the bonnet.
The left front door and right front door each show A1, a small scratch. The left and right rear quarter panels each show A1, a small scratch, and the rear bumper also shows A1. There are no dent, repair, repaint, replaced panel or rust codes on the diagram. The inspector's underside rust note sits outside the diagram and is covered above.
Overall this is a usable enthusiast car in good cosmetic condition for its age, with light, honest marks and no recorded structural or repair history. The photographs show glossy black paintwork, gold BBS wheels with polished lips and a front lip and rear wing in place. Wheel scratches are noted by the inspector.
Interior Condition
The interior grade is B. The inspector notes a cracked monitor, a scuffed and scratched steering wheel and general scuffs in the cabin. The photographs show a clean dark grey dashboard, grey cloth front seats with a perforated pattern, floor mats and a tidy rear bench with no visible damage in the frame. The seat bolsters and headlining are not specifically commented on by the inspector. Smoke and odours are not mentioned.
Japanese Auction Grades
Grade 4.5 sits in the upper tier of the Japanese scale. It means very good condition with only minor marks and no recorded accident repair. Interior grade B means average, with some visible wear. Auction grades are an independent guide to condition, not a mechanical guarantee.
Model History
The R34 Skyline GT-R was launched in January 1999 as the successor to the R33 and was built until 2002. It used the RB26DETT and the ATTESA E-TS Pro system, with a stiffer body and a Getrag six speed manual. V-Spec was the performance package added to the GT-R, with firmer suspension, an active limited slip differential and aerodynamic parts. Later V-Spec II and M-Spec versions followed, along with special editions such as the Nür. This car dates from the first month of production, which collectors note.
Why This Model Has Become Collectible
The BNR34 is the last of the Skyline GT-R line, and the final car built before the nameplate was separated from the Skyline range. It carried Group A racing heritage, a famously tunable engine, a manual gearbox and an analogue driving experience. It became known to a global audience through video games and film. Good unmodified or well documented examples are increasingly hard to source in Japan, and demand from the United States, Europe, Australia and the Middle East keeps the model in the spotlight.
This car appeals because of its low mileage for the age, one owner history, extensive dealer servicing and a clean 4.5 grade. We would not call any car an investment and cannot guarantee future values, but the combination is not often seen.
What To Look For When Buying This Model
On any RB26 car, check the history of the turbochargers, as the factory ceramic turbines can fail, and look for oil seepage at the cam covers and around the rear main seal. Confirm the cooling system condition, since the RB26 can run hot when tuned. Check the ATTESA transfer case and the active LSD for noise or whining, and the Getrag gearbox for synchro wear, especially on the second gear change. The R34 is known for rust at the sills, strut tops, spare wheel well and around the boot corners, so the underside rust noted on this sheet deserves a proper look.
On this car specifically, the Mine's ECU boost up has no certificate, so ask what power it makes and what fuelling and cooling support sits behind it. With coilovers, Brembo calipers and HKS gauges fitted, confirm the work was done properly and consider using the genuine suspension loaded in the car if you prefer standard handling. The cracked monitor and scuffed steering wheel are cosmetic but worth budgeting for.
Why Import This Car From Japan
Japan keeps cars in controlled, mostly garaged conditions, with shaken inspections and dealer servicing, which makes it the main source of clean R34 GT-Rs. A one owner car with a dealer service record and clear sheet is rare even there.
USA Import Information
This car is more than 25 years old, so it is eligible for import into the United States. Autoselecta can arrange shipment from Japan to the United States. Please contact Autoselecta with your city or ZIP code before bidding so a delivered quotation can be prepared. We can calculate the expected purchase price, Japan costs, shipping, customs related costs and delivery requirements. Additional charges can apply, so please check the quotation carefully.
Ultimate Guide For Japanese Imports
A typical import runs from bidding, to payment, to export paperwork, to shipping and then registration in your own country. Check your national import, emissions and safety rules before bidding, since these differ widely between countries.

Auction Caution
Auction cars are inspected before sale, but they are still used vehicles. The auction sheet is an independent condition guide, not a mechanical warranty. A performance car of this age may need servicing, maintenance or refurbishment after purchase. Please note the inspector warnings again: a cracked monitor, a scuffed and scratched steering wheel, cabin scuffs, some rust on the underside, scratched wheels, stone chips around the front, and an ECU boost up with no certificate. The warranty booklet and owner's manual are to be sent later and are not confirmed.
